Our History
Katherine Smith Elementary School has proudly served the Houston community since its founding in 1954. Named in honor of Katherine Hoyt Smith (1876–1970), a dedicated educator who taught for 40 years at the White Oak Community School near the current campus, our school carries forward her legacy of commitment to student learning and community service. For decades, Katherine Smith Elementary has been a place where academic excellence, strong values, and a nurturing environment come together to empower every child to succeed.

La Escuela Primaria Katherine Smith ha servido con orgullo a la comunidad de Houston desde su fundación en 1954. Lleva el nombre de Katherine Hoyt Smith (1876–1970), una educadora dedicada que enseñó durante 40 años en la escuela comunitaria de White Oak, cerca de donde se encuentra actualmente el campus.
